Copy Editing
Checking for spelling, punctuation, grammar, capitalization, numerical accuracy and consistency throughout the manuscript. Includes stylistic editing and development of a style sheet as well as up to three in-person or video calls to review work.
$45.00 per hour
(Based on word count and level of intervention required.)
First-time Authors
First-time authors (never having published a book) enjoy a discounted rate for copy editing and stylistic editing. The rate applies to all editing services for one title. (Does not apply to proofreading if another editor has been engaged to copyedit.)
$30.00 per hour

Manuscript Review
A comprehensive review of your manuscript with specific feedback on characters, world-building, and plot. The report will include suggestions to eliminate contradictions and inconsistencies that might confuse readers if any are identified. No editing will be done, but you will receive a recommendation on the level of editing intervention you can expect. Novels, memoirs and short story collections in the fantasy, sci-fi, mystery and thriller genres only, please.
$500.00 for up to 100,000 words.
Add $50 for every 25,000 additional words.
Proofreading
A final pass to check for consistency and to ensure that no new errors have been introduced into the final draft. Typically, proofreading is conducted by an independent editor who has not provided copy editing, structural, or stylistic editing services prior to this point. A style sheet is required.
$40.00 per hour
